Beginning July 1st, 2005, all applicant fingerprint submissions to the DOJ must be transmitted electronically. Live Scan digital submissions provide the quickest way to submit and process background checks.
Fill out your "Request for Live Scan Service" form, commonly supplied by the agency or organization requesting your fingerprints. It's recommended that applicants obtain the forms required for fingerprinting services from their agency requiring their criminal history background check.
The California Department of Justice (DOJ) provides an automated service for criminal background checks that may be required as a condition of employment, licensing, certification, foreign adoptions or VISA clearances. Live Scan fingerprinting is available to assist the public for the purposes of pre-employment. We will transmit your fingerprints to the California State Department of Justice. They will then review your criminal history and send the findings back to the requesting agency.
Payments accepted: Cash, Debit/Credit Card only. Depending on the type of application, there may be additional fees. Bring your Live scan form, a valid government-issued photo ID, and the appropriate form of payment.
